Refurb Project 2010/11

In February 2010 we launched our appeal to fund the essential repairs and redecoration to St Mary’s interior and to replace the flooring and inadequate heating and lighting installations. The aim of the refurbishment is to both repair and preserve this special building but also to enhance it so that it can be more open, accessible and hospitable to all in our community. The main refurbishment work took just over nine months.

St Mary’s reopened on 16th April 2011 and was rededicated by the Rt Revd John Pritchard, Bishop of Oxford on 11th May.

There is still work to do to complete the project including installing new noticeboards, updating the St Mary’s Centre kitchen, providing more folding chairs and installing an audio visual system. Fundraising events continue to be held to finance this remaining work. Please click here for further information about these and how to donate.

Refurbishment

Refurb fundraising reaches almost £800,000

We are delighted to inform all friends and families of Wendover that almost £800,000 has been raised by the St Mary's Refurbishment Appeal. This has been achieved through your generosity and hardwork. All involved in leading and co-ordinating this work are tremendously grateful to everyone for rallying together to reach this goal. We are still fundraising to raise a further £90,000 to complete the final parts of the project.
